How To Make Money On The Net Questions and Answers

Open Question: Am I paranoid or is my sister's friend a sociopath?

I spoke to my big sister this morning. We don't talk much because she needs minutes on her phone to speak and she's not doing well economically in California right now. So when I spoke to her, she was more insecure and very sorry for things, not being there for me and all that. She had a friend who she was staying with for awhile, a friend she met through another friend. When I spoke to this friend I immediately didn't feel right. I felt she was fake and couldn't be trusted. Something was just not right. This lady is 34 years old and my sister is 27. This lady has been to prison for 4 years ( I didn't want to ask why for some reason ). She claims she is a Baptist missionary who travels the world to ''spread the love of God''. She said she would pay for my flight to see my sister, she's even paying for my sister's flight to see my mother. I wondered, how did this woman get so much money when she's a religious missionary and been to prison for 4 years? It didn't add up. Her cousin is on his 6th strike. I thought I was being paranoid because I was looking for things about sociopaths on the net and learned how they are so emotionless. This lady sounded like a fricken tape recorder! She didn't sound right to me, nor human. Just fake. When I asked my sister what her job was, my sister said she would tell me later in a low voice. If the lady is so religious, what's there to hide, right? I wanted to tell my suspicions to my sister about this lady but the lady wanted to talk to me again out of no where! ''She's getting mad, just talk to her'' my sister said in a low voice. She handed the lady the phone. I said I want to talk to me sister, but she went on and on about God. I told my sister to call me back when the lady is gone and now I'm worried. Something just doesn't feel right. What should I do? Am I being paranoid? Sorry for making it too long.  more

Open Question: How do you feel about the PASS ACT-S.1261 and do you:?

feel that this is something every American should attempt to stop from being put through the legislation? Special interests groups are trying to force Democrats, Independents and Republicans to support this legislation. States have been and are working to ensure drivers licenses are secure documents and have document integrity. The federal government, in spite of the states, wants to set international standards that are not needed. The federal government wants control of your state drivers license. The federal government is bribing states to go along with its plans. We spoke with Mark Lerner about the emerging PASS Act a few weeks ago. Our freedom and our rights are not for sale! Some governors want to take the bribe money. The senate committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs will be considering the legislation very soon. The PASS Act does not repeal the Real ID Act. It does repeal provisions of the Real ID Act; those provisions that are included in Title II of the Real ID Act 2005. The Real ID Act is still intact and is federal law. The PASS Act contains many of the most egregious aspects of the Real ID Act; including the requirement for a digital facial image/....photograph that will be mandated to be internationally.... facial recognition compatible. There is not a federal law that prohibits the simultaneous use of CCTV/....surveillance cameras and facial recognition technology in real time. The PASS Act will do nothing to provide a higher level of National security. Under the provisions of the PASS Act the documents used to obtain a drivers license are not authenticated. These documents are called breeder documents. Although requirements for new databases and the linking of databases are not part of the PASS Act the fact remains through aamva.net and NLETS states can still have information contained in their state Department of Motor Vehicles made available to both federal and international law enforcement agencies without a court order. Two international agencies (AAMVA and the ICAO, an agency of the United Nations) were involved in U.S. policy and law - the Real ID Act 2005 and the newly proposed PASS Act. DHS has called AAMVA the hub and backbone of the Real ID Act. On AAMVAs own web-site it proclaims it is an international organization that serves law enforcement and motor vehicle administrators. Both the Real ID Act and the PASS Act result in Americans being enrolled into a single global biometric identification system that links a persons body to their ability to buy and sell. WE ARE ASKING EVERY AMERICAN TO CALL EACH OF THE SENATORS in the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committee AND SAY: We are opposed to the Real ID Act and the PASS Act. We are opposed to being enrolled into a biometric identification system. We do not want our social security numbers in state DMV databases. We do not want RFID chips in our drivers licenses. We are opposed to the federal government intervening in the issuance of state drivers licenses. TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW AND CONTACT call these numbers: Senator Lieberman (202) 224-4041 Chairman Senator Collins (202) 224-2523 Senator Akaka (202) 224-6361 Senator Bennet (202) 224-5852 Senator Burris (202) 224-2854 Senator Carper (202) 224-2441 Senator Coburn (202) 224-5754 Senator Ensign (202) 224-6244 Senator Graham (202) 224-5972 Senator Landrieu (202) 224-5824 Senator Levin (202) 224-6221 Senator McCain (202) 224-2235 Senator McCaskill (202) 224-6154 Senator Pryor (202) 224-2353 Senator Tester (202) 224-2644 Senator Voinovich (202) 224-3353 The First, Fourth and Tenth Amendments are under attack. Open Question: What do you know about torrents sites that require a fee? Can they be trusted if I pay to sign in?

I know torrent sites are infringing copyright laws, but let's face it: many of us use it. Either because we don't have the money/ time etc to buy the original CDs, DVDs etc, because it is a rare piece unavailable for sale or simply because it's not worth paying for something until you're sure you like it. Well, I haven't used torrent sites that require a fee for using them before. That's why I want to know if any of you use them, if they are efficient, if they can be trusted (do you really gain access to their files after paying or do they just get your money?)? I have some examples: idownloadall.com, downloadaccess.net, fastdownloadarchive.com (which looks much like the previous one- I wonder why? It may be a trick.) etc. Maybe you know others and can recommend me the best... Thank you! Meilien, I think you're being too harsh and even insulting. I just wanted to see if it wasn't fake. I think you're exaggerating a lot. Anyway, thank you for expressing your opinion. After a deeper research I found out the the sites mentioned by me are actually scams that don't really provide the services they promise. So anyone who has the same question as I did, BEWARE!  more

When this guy left EDM he showed what it was to have a dirty goal front of the net nose for the puck, I could not believe they traded him (esp when they get penner a complete bust for the money). Did fine in NY. In COL not from the numbers, but from the games i watched he didnt seem like the same player . . . maybe the system? In LA I think with Smyth and Scuderi and their young players coming into their own, if they dont make the playoffs theres some big questions to answer. Well . . . ? Open Question: Please help with HomeAgain Pet Chip " REMOVAL "?

I recently learned that someone or somehow, three a my dogs information has not been documented or provided to this company. I have spoke with several people that answer the phones and three supervisors numerous times. I provided the chip numbers and HomeAgain verified the veterinarians name and location.. I stated that I was absolutely sick, given the fact that for more than two years I believed my dogs had a safety net. Even though I paid for the services my dogs were potentially vulnerable. At no time did any of the phone operators or supervisors offer to take the information contingent upon some arrangements that could be made. Finally, I stated, how is this for of thought, " Someone might consider taking the information and the fact that no one ever offered might be a clue that they didn't give a rip about my pets." I felt as if they had received their money so the interest JUST was not there. Oh, but don't worry the supervisor will call you back on another day ,again, she's busy............ later I learned she was gone. and other sources of noise. Does anybody know is a difficult to remove their chip so I can have a chip from a different company placed in my dogs. I do not trust or believe anything this company says. I wouldn't accept services for free or anything else affiliated with this company. They truly demonstrated their compassion for pets. After reading numerous complaints about HomeAgain I wish I had done my homework before. I  more

Open Question: What is it with liberals and the New Deal?

READ ALL, I ONCE AGAIN DARE THE LIBERALS TO REPLY WITH GOOD REPOSNSES... What the New Deal gave America was relief, but it did not solve the problem, it only prolonged it. It also left America with more debt. When FDR took office in 1933 (Year New Deal was passed.) unemployment was over 24%. In 1935 (Second year New Deal was passed) unemployment was at 18%. In 1939, it was 17.2%. In 1940 (before the War), unemployment was still over 17%. That doesn't sound like something that worked, after all 17% unemployment is MASSIVE. From 1933 to 1938, unemployment dropped only 7%. When America entered the Second World War in 1942, unemployment began to drop in a rapid pace. In 1943 unemployment had fallen to 1.9%. The Second World War is what got us out of the Depression. It made unemployment go away and it awakened the industrial might of America. It's not hard to see how WW2 got us out of the Great Depression. With everyone buying, spending, and producing, the economy made a great recovery. With the demand for war supplies high, it forced our nation to be more productive, which lead to us being more prosperous. WW2 got us out, the New Deal did not. All the New Deal left us with was a higher debt and a larger government… I think FDR’s own staff members can summarize how badly the New Deal failed, like what Henry Morgenthau, Secretary of Treasury for FDR, said once. He said - “We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work. And I have just one interest, and now if I am wrong somebody else can have my job. I want to see this country prosper. I want to see people get a job. I want to see people get enough to eat. We have never made good on our promises. I say after eight years of this administration, we have just as much unemployment as when we started. And enormous debt to boot.” - Henry Morgenthau, FDR's Secretary of Treasury... (1941) That came from FDR’s own staff member! The numbers don’t lie either. Redistribution of wealth, which is what a stimulus does, does not create wealth or jobs! It only changes who has the money… New Deal policies like the National Industry Recovery Act of 1933, instituted “codes” to limit competition in business. Businesses were forced to cut output, so they could maintain high prices and wages. Businessmen who cut prices were cajoled, fined, and sometimes arrested. Fortunately, NIRA was struck down by the Supreme Court in 1935… Other polices all did what the NIRA did. A good example is the Agricultural Adjustment Act of 1933. It slashed production to increase and maintain high prices and wages. Other acts made the cost of employment incredibly high, such as the Davis-Bacon Act, or the increase on Social Security, which increased the cost of compensations. All of these policies also included high tax hikes, high regulations on business, and increased spending. These policies all lead to high unemployment and an increased burden to families. Many liberals talk about how FDR helped people, but what good is help, when the majority of the nation needed more than help. It needed economic help and recovery, which never came… Sources: http://geekpolitics.com/the-new-deal-didnt-work-the-first-time-lets-try-it-again/ http://www.academia.org/campus_reports/2002/summer_2002_3.html http://www.independent.org/newsroom/article.asp?id=176 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1089131/Great-myth-New-Deal-Depression-era-plan-prolonged-US-economic-slump-makes-poor-model-Britain.html http://www.floppingaces.net/2008/12/06/obamas-describes-his-new-deal-program/ http://meganmcardle.theatlantic.com/archives/2009/02/did_world_war_ii_end_the_great.php http://www.mackinac.org/archives/1998/sp1998-01.pdf http://www.cato.org/pubs/tbb/tbb-0508-25.pdf I also dare them to read all and answer thses questions-which were never answered by the liberals. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AmdLRRryZBNb0VWoqhPEvDbsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090703203927AAVU8Z1 So far, in all my questions tonight, not a single liberal tried to debunk what i said... Sad... Most just read the first 5 sentances... READ ALL... I always do the same for you shit heads... Natalie is wrong, war increased demand for war supply, and increased production. It mostly was not due to what she said... Idiot. Hey brown, answer the question you shit head... U forced to hide in the closet and watch MSNBC? funny g, good one, read the damn sources... BTW the the supplies comes from independant factories, duh! Or how in the end, the war left us with high debt or how it left us with unemployment after it... fnny, do some more research ipod, if the gov is in debt, we get taxed and then we see the Carter years again... idiot. Tony, the same thing Obama is doing happened in Japan in the 90s... that lead to a major recession... idiot, u use the simple liberal counter arguement, when in fact no stimulus in our history has ever worked.  more

Open Question: How to "condition" a monofilament net?

I have a mono casting net that I got last summer. I tried to learn how to throw it, but I can on achieve a good toss on 1 out of 20 times. Part of the reason I think it is giving me a problem is that the mono seems to have a good memory to it and is "poofy" (if thats even a word). Because its so "poofy" its hard to wrap up the net to throw it. (It's a 7 foot net so it's kind of big.) Is there any way to make the mono less rigid? I store it in currently in my regular garage, but I also have a 20x10 vinyl garage for all the lawn equipment, it gets over 100 degrees in there... I was thinking about hanging it in there so the heat and weight of the lead will stretch it out. Good idea? Bad? Any other suggestions. (Besides buying a nice mesh net... don't have the money for that.)  more

Resolved Question: Where does the 'All England club' at Wimbledon get its cash from?

They have just paid out £80 million for the centre court roof. The prize money paid out at the tournament to the finalists is hundreds of thousands. Wimbledon is the only one of the 4 majors that has next to no sponsorship or advertising around the courts. Apart from a 'Rolex' logo above the scoreboard and a minuscule 'Slazenger' logo on the umpires chair (neither of which you can hardly see on tv) there is no on court advertisements unlike the other majors where brand names are splashed all over the court and even on the net itself. So, apart from ticket and merchandise sales, where does their income come from to cover the cost of an £80 million pound roof plus prize money?  more

Open Question: What's different between today and the 60's in terms of political activism?

Not sure if I'm phrasing that right. Something a person on Y/A's said the other day stuck in my head. He said Femininst think they are gaining rights and in reality, we are all losing our rights as our government becomes bigger and more socialist. I'm wondering why past generations were more effective in social change and activism than present. We have the net & cell phones which past generations didn't have, that should be a major advantage. I look at the M. Jackson thing and droves of people are talking about it and thousands gather in public places to show support. Yet for real issues nobody really gives a sh*t. Where are these same people fighting for Jobs in there communities? What about better schools? We wouldn't have the same Violence and crimes if people had better economic conditions, that can't be disputed. There (WAS) a saying, "together we stand, divide we fall." Back in the 60's the music rallied the people, all people. Clearly we can't rely on Britney to lead the way. I realize the media truly controls the masses, M. Jackson being the perfect example. I know quite a few friends that travel abroad and none are very proud to admit, when abroard they are Americans. One friend even switches his wedding band to the other hand, so he isn't identified as an American. It just frustrates me that we have all this technology and the masses rush out for M.Jackson. Where are all these colleges kids going to get jobs? In 20 minutes from my house I can drive through neighborhoods that look like third world countries this happen over the last 20 years. When will we hold the government responsible? We pay the price for their corrupt policies? Aside from the token Mr. Madoff, who is being held responisble for the economic meltdown? Corporate Greed, give bonuses to the same people that ran these corporation into the ground. That makes sense. We can't even get rid of the same 10 term corrupt politicians, they wouldn't dare take the money out of politics. The people's choice would actually get elected and they couldn't do anymore harm. I guess this is a rant. I've just never seen the people so helpless and stupid, to be honest. The media has us divided, controlled and diverted and we are losing our rights. I see prosecutors on the news feverishly charging a 14 yr. old with child porn from sexting and thinking this is nuts. Has our society gone insane? I guess the whole M. jackson thing just p*ssed me off. People would rather hit the streets for M. Jackson. That's what really important some superstar that likely overdosed himself. No disrespect to the dead.  more

Open Question: ways to manufactor a product?

You are an inventor who enjoys working around the home, cleaning, cooking, and doing minor home repairs and remodeling. You have little financial skills and no management skills. You have a great idea for a new kind of home appliance that meets everyday consumer needs. Your net worth is not very high so you have no idea if you’ll be able to “fund” this start‐up. You know that currently there are similar products that meet the consumers’ needs, but those products are inherently dangerous. You know nothing about manufacturing other than that it costs lots of money to set up a plant. You are convinced that this new technology idea would be applicable in a wide range of other products. Your spouse, knowing how much time this venture will take away from family time, has asked you for an example of what you mean to make sure your idea isn’t some harebrained scheme. You mention the following as two similar ideas that were developed for one application but proved to have VERY widespread applications: a. The “clicker” was initially invented for use with TV’s, but now has widespread applications for a host of electronic applications, just like your technology could potentially do. b. The 3‐prong power cord for electrical appliances was invented for higher quality appliances. Lower quality appliances have a 2‐prong cord, which is a safety issue. Better quality power cords have the 3rd “ground” wire, so now it has widespread application, just like your technology could potentially do. You now need to make a manufacturing decision facing the firm in terms of how to manufacture the product you have three possible options: Establish manufacturing of all components and final assembly. Establish assembly only operation with components purchased from local vendors. Outsource the entire manufacturing operation to an offshore company. which one would be the better route to go and why? pros and cons please. thanks!  more

Resolved Question: Getting a trampoline?

My parents are really cheapskates...but they said they'd be fine with getting a trampoline as long as I pay half the money. I know I can somehow bribe them into paying more, but for now they aren't budging. Problem is, I only have about 200 dollars, and the trampoline that is my preference (Springfree Trampolines) cost way more than that. Are there any other good trampoline brands (we want the nets on the sides) that are cheap but good quality? Thanks in advance! (Also, any suggestions for how to get them to consider paying most of the trampoline would b much appreciated! :)  more

Open Question: What is the net income of a dentist?

The Bureau of Labor statistics said that dentists make about $136,960 on average. But what is the net income? (meaning minus the equipment fees, water bill, electric bill, staff costs, etc) Of course, the net income of a dentist is all relative, so about what percent of the income is actually the dentist's spending money?  more

Open Question: Thinking to sue a breast pump producer - mums, what do would you do?

Here is my situation. I am the mother of a 7 month old, and returned to work a month ago. When my daughter was about 5 months old, I decided to buy a pump to take to work later. I had a Philips Avent pump that worked quite well, however it took me around 30 minutes to pump 120 ml (4 oz), so I went for the Medela Pump In Style, which was meant to be "the only retail pump out there that had hospital pump like suction" and claimed to do the job in just 10 minutes. So I paid £200 ($330) for Medela Pump In Style. To my surprise, it didn't wort AT ALL; I couldn't even express a drop of milk with it. I called them and they suggested that I bought the Personal Fit breast shields (21 mm), which was the same size as Philips Avent that worked for me. Nothing changed, in my opinion it had nothing to do with the shields or anything, but the suction was just very very weak (believe me, it's not rocket science to compare the suction when you test it on your own body). I contacted the company and sent them the pump for testing. I also sent them a short film, where I was pumping with both Medela and Avent, the former did not work at all, the latter worked fine. They promised to get a lactation consultant to look at it. Finally they got back to me and told me the pump was working just great, and there will be no refund as it was an item of personal use. That it didn't work for me it was my business, as it was my body that didn't fit. I told them that was rubbish, as Avent worked ok and told them I would post the video on YouTube if they don't refund, so that other mums don't get trapped into the same situation. Since then I did not hear from them, they never got back to me, not with an update, not with a lactation consultant, and most importantly, they have kept my pump - useless as it is, it is still my property - for over a month. I am so outraged by this situation, for so many reasons: 1. They sell a pump with a weak suction, that is really the only reason why it didn't work - and by not working I mean, it did not work at all 2. They claim it is the best pump out there, and that it does the job in 10 minutes 3. They charge an enormous amount of money for it £200 = $330 as it is so proficient, which is net net just deceiving fraud 4. They held my property for over 1 month w/out even updating me why Yes, I understand they are a big company, have good lawyers, however I think there is a point where this type of shamelessness is just enough. I am considering to sue them, not only for my £230 (pump plus breast shieldsds), but for the sake of the principle of not allowing a fat company to cash the money of mums who just want the best for their babies. It is just outrageous to produce something useless, claim it is the best product out there, charge a hell lot for it, and keep the whole amount even when it is obvious that your product does not work. What would you mums advise? Anything from common sense to legal advice would be really appreciated. Thanks THE PUMP IS NOT DEFECTIVE, they said themselves it is working like any other pump. I understand it is working well for some mums, and I wouldn't have said anything if neither Medela, nor Avent worked. PLEASE BELIEVE ME, THIS PUMP FEELS LIKE IT HAS THE SUCCTION OF A CEREAL BOWL. Yes, I used it correctly - the tubbings, the orifice, everything. Thanks for all your ideas related to why it might not be working. I am 100% positive I used it correctly, the membranes were new etc. In the film I sent them I filmed everything I was doing, the pump in detail with tubbings and orrifice, the bottles with the membranes, the shields etc. They never came back to tell me I was doing anything wrong.  more

Open Question: how can i get respect from my family members..?

hello all, I am a 24 year old guy. i am a software engineer. i have several cousin and each one of them is far more successful than me. My father, my brother and most of my relatives are earning far more money than i am. Now, because of this, nobody gives me any kind of respect and doesn't take me or my work seriously. What they are concerned with is just the annual package. I am working extremely hard-day in-day out- so that i can also catch up, however the benchmark i need to achieve seems far away. Also let me add this that i am an extremely good software developer with excellent knowledge of asp.net,C#, AJAX etc. technologies. However nobody in my family is concerned with it. In spite of all, I love my family and i dont want to leave them. I just want to prove a point. thanks  more

Open Question: How do I approach my wife about setting up a household budget?

She avoids the idea of budget planning. I have tried to explain to her that she would actually save more money if we had a budget. She has about $1000.00 dollars of bills she is responsible for per month and brings home a net of $2500 per month but never is able to save any money. She has no credit cards but pays cash or debit card for everything. She's not in debt. Just can't save money.  more

I have the ipod nano since Dec. 2007-this one http://www.popgadget.net/images/ipod-nano-pink.jpg It froze, and i rested it, but it was still frozen. I brought it to Apple, where they didn't cound't do anything. They advised me to make an appt. with their "geek squad", but since my ipod is over a year old, it would not be covered by the warranty and i would have to pay a fee-but depending on what's wrong with it, i would have to pay more They also said i might have to recycle it, and get money off on my next one. Resolved Question: What do you guys think about this interesting information?

Some say the New Deal worked and some blame the free market and deregulation as the main cause of the Great Depression... It only changes who has the money… AS FOR THE STARTING OF THE GREAT DEPRESSION- Some liberals think that it was the free market's fault. They blame deregulation and capitalism. But that's not what Herbert Hoover did. Herbert Hoover did what most liberals would do and today he is still wrongly viewed as a free market disciple. The very seeds for the Great Depression were planted way before the stock market crash! During the recession of 1928, the Federal Reserve Board severely cut the money supply. The discount rate to banks was increased from 3.5% to 6%, from January, 1928 to August, 1929. By slashing the money supply and cutting off the the lines of available credit, the economy contracted. Not to mention the passage of the most draconian protectionist bill in American History, the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act. The investors reacted to the bill, and added with the slashing of the money supply, the market became unstable and over a three day period in October 1929, the market crashed... Added with the Fordney-McCumber Tariff of 1922, which destroyed the agricultural economy-it's easy to see how the Great Depression was started by poor choices and not the free market or deregulation, as some crazy liberals will say. The funny thing is that one of Roosevelt's top advisors, Rexford Guy, even said "We didn't admit it at the time, but practically the whole New Deal was extrapolated from programs that Hoover started."... What this man is saying is that the New Deal got it's main ideas and policies from Hoover's own disasterous programs! WTF!? Once again, liberal programs and spending lead to our collapse. The liberals also, throughout history gave large amounts of power to the Federal Reserve, which was also a major cause of the Great Depresssion... As I said before, it was not due to conservative values. It was not due to the free market and it was not due to capitalism... Sources: http://geekpolitics.com/the-new-deal-didnt-work-the-first-time-lets-try-it-again/ http://www.academia.org/campus_reports/2002/summer_2002_3.html http://www.independent.org/newsroom/article.asp?id=176 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1089131/Great-myth-New-Deal-Depression-era-plan-prolonged-US-economic-slump-makes-poor-model-Britain.html http://www.floppingaces.net/2008/12/06/obamas-describes-his-new-deal-program/ http://meganmcardle.theatlantic.com/archives/2009/02/did_world_war_ii_end_the_great.php http://www.mackinac.org/archives/1998/sp1998-01.pdf BTW for those how might want to report this, i did ask a question. What do you think about this? And for those of you who will comment, please read the damn thing. I've seen many liberals who reject what someone has written just because they can't read past 5 sentances. As i said before, liberals can't read, so they attack instead of actually naming sources... And them liberals get off topic and attack conservatives instead of having a logical debate... Thank you Jimmy G, i may not agree with you but atleast you gave a LOGICAL response. Thank you to all who actually debated and challenged what i typed. It to me show's repect and some actual intelligence. But i did see a lack of sources.  more

Open Question: what can we do as americans.?

America was a dream of freedom that our founding fathers had, a dream that was never reached. America has more freedoms than other countries, but we are strongly restricted. And our constitution was built to protect us and guarantee us of our right yet we keep losing those. Many States make their own laws, which are voted on by the people for the people, just to have the government over rule the situation. Marijuana has been a fight for quite some time..wake up and smell the shell casings...you lost your war! The American people won't let you dictate what we put in our bodies. How many rednecks hate the new restrictions on their arms? I know! And our retirement? we have to have over a million dollars! Im not going to work my life away then, Id much rather be the drag net that sinks the boat, and leach off the government and work under the table, and spend money out of our country. at least if the country falls apart we might have a say on fixing it. How else as americans can we get this country to change?  more

Open Question: Professional Moral Dilemma?

Hi people, I would like to get an independent opinion regarding the situation I found myself in. I was hired temporarily as a bookkeeper by this company in order to help them clean up the books. The mess I found was far beyond anything I would expect. People they currently have are not trained or experienced in bookkeeping, so their books are a huge mess. Being very detailed, I started digging through vendor files, cross-referencing very poor paper trail they had, company's QuickBooks files and vendors' statements. Meanwhile, every suggestion I made regarding any improvement was shut down. I was trying to stress the importance of proper filing and office procedures in order to avoid late payments, duplicate payments, and general errors. Nothing was accepted and nobody cared about the job I was doing. This is pretty odd if you ask me. Anyway, even though every major financial report was locked up, I was able to pull up regular company's checks and other vendor & customer reports. I've noticed the huge amounts of cash one person was taking out on a weekly basis. What they do to justify this is bounce several checks, so their vendors supposedly won't accept anything but the cashiers check. They'll then take the cash out under a false pretense of paying this vendor. Or, they'll take half of the money out to pay the vendor and the rest they'll enter in some expense category and the copy of that cashiers check will fall off the radar. I found probably around $100,000.00 unaccounted for in 2009 alone. I started asking questions and was immediately laid off. I am obviously upset, but even more that just being upset about me, I think what that person is doing to every employee and to their own family (co-owners) is beyond criminal. The company is very much in the gutter as it is. Since the files, APs and ARs are full of errors, they do not have a clear picture of their financial status meaning they could be operating with net loss without knowing it. Do you think I should just forget the whole thing and move on, or if I should point out to the IRS what this person is doing? Or is there something else I could do to stop this?  more

Open Question: Why am i getting a banging noise when I flush my 1st floor toilet?

When I flush my 1st floor toilet I am getting a banging noise while the water is going down. When I go down in the basement I can hear the noise at the water heater. It is the water heater cold line pipe where the noise is coming from. The water heater is new and we have never had any kind of problem like this before. I have had a plumber here and he said to me that we need a pressure reducing valve because our pressure coming into the house is 100psi. It is a $500.00-750.00 job and i am out of work and I don't want to do it unless it is definitely the problem. I have also seen on the net where someone said it may just be the cold water valve on the water heater that is acting up which is a much cheaper repair. I have also heard that the problem itself could be in the toilet tank. I am lost and I don't have the money to waste on the wrong repair. How can it be a pressure problem if we never had this before. The water heater tag says it can handle up to 150psi and I Ihave heard this neighborhood has always had high water pressure. Please help me if your knowledgable at this. Thanks!  more

Resolved Question: What do you think of my letter to Sarah Silverman?

Okay, guys and gals, here is my letter to Sarah Silverman. I have some Hollywood contacts from college and found her personal email. Here is a fan's attempt to get a date from a famous actress and comedienne. Here goes. Dear Sarah Silverman: May I call you Sarah or would Ms. Silverman be more appropriate? I am a HUGE fan of yours. I know that you like Irish American boys from Boston like Matt Damon. I sort of look like him, only I am taller. Well, it's a bad picture. Anyway, I was going to be the Hollywood, CA area next weekend and I was wondering if we could meet for lunch or something? It doesn't have to be on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills but it is my first time to LA and that might be fun. Or we could go to an Irish pub like the one in "Good Will Hunting." Do they have pubs like that in Hollywood or LA? I must tell you that I am a Catholic and I would consider converting to Judaism for the sake of the children. Yes, Sarah, children as in more than one. PS- My mom says if I marry a Jewish girl that your mom will have to wear a black veil. Is that true? But when I told her how much money you make, she is willing to make an exception for you. And please do not drink the holy water at the church. Father Feeley, our parish priest, might not understand your artistic sense of humor. Here's Matt Damon http://www.kfilmu.net/obrazky/herci/matt-damon.jpg Here's me. Hey, it's a bad picture http://www.flickr.com/photos/29542185@N07/3677979819/  more
