Resolved Question: How's my writing? On a scale of 1-10 how interested are you?
I'm doing some writing exercises from a book, and I'm frustrated that I can't get any feedback apart from my own opinions which are completely biased. This exercise was about creating interest, and I wanted to see if I did well or not. Thanks for reading! Maureen Stape loved dating, but hated first dates. She was ten minutes late for a blind date and she had already rolled a high-heeled ankle, tore her stockings, lost her date's phone number and realized that she had forgotten to put on deodorant. "Dianne!" Maureen shrieked into her cell phone, limping across a crosswalk. "Is the date over already?" "Dianne, are you sure this restaurant exists? I've been down the block twice already. The hot dog vendor thinks I'm stalking him." "You won't see it until you're right next to it," Dianne said. "It's not a made-up restaurant; James wouldn't ditch you before he's even met you." "He'll just wait until I've sat down to ditch me?" "You know what I mean." Maureen cursed at her throbbing ankle. "How does this happen?" Maureen said. "How is it that I can play soccer every weekend without a scratch, but I get an injury walking to a restaurant?" "First dates are their own kind of sport," Dianne said. "Yeah, and I'm an unfortunate veteran." Maureen nearly passed the restaurant for a third time. Her anxiety of riding an unfamiliar subway train to an unfamiliar part of the city was immediately replaced by the anxiety of the date itself. "I found the restaurant" "Can you see him?" The windows were like mirrors, reflecting the lights of the passing cars, so Maureen cupped her free hand against her face and pressed it up to the window. She was suddenly face-to-face with a man. He had been smiling at the waitress, his teeth gleaming against his dark brown skin. He was so handsome that Maureen's heart did a girlish leap when he turned and looked at her. He was holding a flower. Maureen felt her eyebrows fly into her bangs. This was James! James's smile turned to a grimace when he saw the flower on Maureen's shirt. Maureen gasped and limped away from the window. "What was that?" Dianne asked. "That was me making the world's worst first impression." "Well hurry up and go make a better second impression!" "Dianne, he's the most handsome guy I've ever seen." "Then don't mess it up again." "Thanks." Maureen slid her phone into her purse, hands shaking slightly, praying that somehow she could do something to redeem herself, that she could make this the last first date of her life. moreResolved Question: Do you REALLY think the NHL has changed the game for the worst?
Some points to consider before answering (optional): 1) When the goalies make a GREAT save they don't strut around like chickens on acid as football players do for making a simple tackle. 2) The player benches - and for that matter the penalty bench - aren't heated to warm the rear ends of the skaters. Imagine if the players got their skates heated while on the bench? 3) The OT period ends when a team scores - unlike the NBA where the teams play until the time runs out no matter how many points are scored. 4) As widely debated as it is, the shootout is much better than those dubbed-over Japanese, "Fear Factor" - type of shows that typically involve water. 5) Better yet, the shootout doesn't involve Roller Derby type rules to determine the outcome. 6) Scott Boras doesn't represent any NHL players. 7) There's only one Canadian franchise in the NBA and MLB. 8) The Hockey Category has the sanest.....well, most intelligent.....well, most amicable members in the Yahoo Answers Universe. 9) The Blackhawks have played more night games in Chicago than the Cubs. 10) The All-Star game has absolutely no bearing on the Stanley Cup Final round - especially where it is to be played. And the Finals games are played in front of the fans of each team - unlike the NFL. 11) No travelling calls in the NHL (that can be applied when the ref feels like it). 12) If the Penguins had won the Stanley Cup and some of their fans designed and manufactured t-shirts similar to those that Steelers fans that made those "Sixburgh" to commemorate it, I doubt the NHL would come down on them as the NFL did. 13) There aren't riots in the stands like soccer has. 14) The NHL doesn't have three franchises in Texas like the NBA, or three in Florida like the NFL. 15) Bud Selig makes Gary Bettman seem like the most popular guy in the world. And much more concerned for the integrity of the game. 16) We will always have "Slapshot" to remind us of how accurately and funny hockey is portrayed in real life. 17) Hockey doesn't have a Terrell Owens. Even Sean Avery ain't that weird. 18) Although they were once known as the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, at least they were accurately named - unlike the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. 19) We have yet to hear of a "juiced puck" era. 20) The NHL players can shoot better than wide receivers. moreResolved Question: Italian translation? My choir had a vote on our quote to put on our t-shirts. I' going to pot them below and I want you to tell me which one you like better. 1) There are two types of people in the world .... Those who can solfege and those who wish they could. Solfege is where you say for example "do" or "mi" and you make the musical hand sign for it. 2) CAUTION: I SING FOR NO REASON!!! Which one do yo like better? or 3) none of the above / neither one or two Thanks! And I just want to see if the outcome is the same as the real one. Ciao p.s. here in america . NFL Superbowl Champs New York Giants wear blue shirts (loser patriots wear white, red, and blue) There In Europe (they called soccer "football") FIFA 2006 world cup champs Italy AzzurrI wear blue.. (loser france wear white, red, and blue) moreResolved Question: Do you defy labeling?
Preppy, goth, emo, scene, gangsta, whatever. I hate labels, so I like the fact that no one ever knows what to expect from me. I'm black (for the most part,) but I've always liked hard rock and alternative more than rap music. I love pearls, wearing pink and polo shirts (so called "preppy"), but I also am kind of morbid, I have an odd fascination for graveyards, silver jewelry, vampires and things of other dark natures (so called "goth".) I play sports, wear lots of soccer jerseys and get about as worked up over the World Cup as a lot of guys do during the Super Bowl (so called "jock".) Because of my eccentric personality, I think that I don't really (and never have) had a set group of friends - the preps, the jocks, the goths, etc. I've always bounced around to different people. I like being able to fit in everywhere, but at the same time I feel like a lot of times I don't fit in anywhere. Too preppy for the goths, too goth for the preps, etc. Anyone else know the feeling? :D Lol! Dr. C Shore, you're an idiot with nothing to do. And, you've been blocked. And you're immature. Too bad you're not that bright - nig-ger is the only "insult" you can come up with. Wanker. moreResolved Question: what is the song that the argentinian spectators always sing in the stadium when the national team is playing?
while cheering and holding the national team's shirt the argentinian spectators (one of them is soccer's greatest Maradonna) sing along a song, all together, they sang it in world cup 2006 in Germany in every match moreResolved Question: help from anyone? this is about a guy......?
Hi, so I've witten about a million questions about this guy, and I have yet again another one. So, I am 90% sure he likes me, and I like him which he was informed. I talk to him often, and usually about school, family, sports (hockey, lacrosse, soccer), and he stares at me quite a lot mostly at lunch and in class. In my gym class i wore my Argentinian National Soccer team jersey, and then the next class he was wearing a similar Argentinian soccer tee shirt, so then we started talking about the World Cup. We're going to the same highschool, and he yelled my name from down the hallway and ran over to me to see if I was accepted. He always blushes when I'm around him, and is out going but shy sometimes around me. I KNOW his friends would make fun of him SOOOO much if we ever went out. What is your opinion, and what should I do (please be SPECIFIC) to make this work out? Thank you for your help! And if there is anything you want to add, I would be grateful. Thanks! Thanks for esponding, and personally I do not care what my friends or his friends say, but would that really have an impast on his decisions to advance our "relationship"? moreResolved Question: Who was the girl on the U.S. World Cup Women's soccer team, who took off her shirt to show her sports bra?

Back in Australia around 8 years ago,George Best and Dennis Law visited my hometown of Newcastle (NSW Australia). My next door neighbour and good friend Tanya Wilkes was working at 2HD at the time when she interviewed the guys regarding Georges Australian Tour. It seems every football (soccer) match I watch these days, every decent tackle sends players to the ground like the've been shot by a sniper in the stands. After five minutes of clutching their face and squealing like a stuck pig, they're up and running around again! It's really frustrating, as I've seen people who have actually broken limbs and torn tendons make less fuss... Do you think FIFA should crack down on this obvious milking of free kicks? I think it should be this World Cup's pet issue.
